Rollover Pass, Bolivar, Texas: 3 April 2010

Some top-notch shorebirding is to be had right now at Rollover Pass on the Bolivar Peninsula. This afternoon the place was packed with terns (including Black Tern), skimmers, sandpipers (including a surprise group of 3 Pectoral Sandpipers that dropped in for less than five minutes), plovers (including Piping and Wilson's Plovers), godwits, avocets and others. Superb. Here is a taste of the masses of birds there today...(photo)

However, arguably highlight today was my first Worm-eating Warbler of the season rustling a dead leaf within Smith Oaks early in the evening.
